Slade Ivy is Born!

SLADE IVY IS BORN!
December 21, 2009
6 pounds 1 ounce

What a thrill for my daughter to have her own little baby.
I am so impressed how well Krista did through her pregnancy, labor & delivery!
She worked up until Slade was born and never complained.
She went into labor and was a trooper.
Had a tricky delivery and
Krista was just AMAZING!

The last trimester of her pregnancy the doctor monitored Krista really close because the baby wasn't growing as much as he would have liked. Slade was growing but was just small.
Krista went into labor and headed off to the hospital with great excitement and anticipation.
She was ready to deliver, the doctor arrived and she gave her first push.
All of a sudden they lost the blood pressure and heart beat. Everything got really intense.
The doctor was barking out orders to the nurses.
Nurses were yelling at other nurses.
The room filled up with people, and Krista kept thinking, "Is this NORMAL?"
At one point, her nurse leaned over and said,
"That team over there is going to take your baby when she is born."
Krista thought, "Where are they taking my baby?"
After being being suctioned, Slade Ivy came out
adorning the cord around her wrist and neck.
She was fine and beautiful to everyone's relief!

After Slade was born, lo and behold the doctor says, "Look at this!"
There was a knot in her
umbilical cord.
That first push had cinched that knot right up and cut off the blood supply!

SLADE IVY WAS PRETTY AMAZING TOO!

KRISTA IS ALREADY SUCH A GOOD LITTLE MOMMA!

and GRAMMA IS THRILLED!
