THE RODEO

THE CLARK COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO

March 2009

Stacy and I had such a great time at the Lagandale rodeo last year
that we couldn't wait to go this year.
We put an open invitation to the kids and grandkids
and Liam and Deisel were our only takers!
So off we went to the Rodeo.
We had a great time,
but I think they were more excited about the treasures they got to bring home.

Deisel chose a cowboy hat to buy at the Rodeo.
He insisted on a white hat that was just like Grandpa's!

Liam chose a gun to come home from the Rodeo with!

Actually, the other takers we got for the Rodeo were Mell and Virgil!
They have some good friends, the Barneys, who had moved out to Logandale.
Mell was telling me that they were going to have their big fair soon.
So I got on line and realized it was the following weekend.
If Mell hadn't said anything, we would have missed the rodeo this year.
So I told Mell and Virgil they were welcome to come with us.
That next week at the temple,
all their friends told them what a great rodeo it was,
and they called me back to see if they could go with us.
Mell and Virgil are always fun to be around!
They are a party in and of themselves!

WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE CLARK COUNTY RODEO!

Carol comes to town

WE WERE THE 3 STOOGES!

TOGETHER AGAIN!

March 2009

Back in March, Carol came to town and
we all were able to get together for an afternoon.
It was so fun to be able to just relax and
find out what was going on in each other's lives.

You know how you have those special friends in your life.
You maybe don't see for years, and then when you finally get together,
things pick up like it was just yesterday!
Carol and Kim are those friends!

All through Jr. High and High School we were known as The 3 Stooges!
Today, we would be better known as The 3 Amigos!
Carol and Kim will always have a special place in my heart!
Growing up, they were those friends you could always feel safe with.
You never had to prove yourself or explain yourself.
You just knew they were there for you, and would love you no matter what!
They have proved that friendship over and over again through out the years.
Now, as we had a few moments to catch up, we could share our joys and our sorrows
and still know we were safe and loved in this circle!

CAROL AND KIM
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!

Summer Fun!

JONES FAMILY REUION

JONES FAMILY REUNION
BRYCE CANYON
June 26, 2009

My dad's family reunion, VERNON ARMSTRONG JONES,
was held in beautiful Bryce Canyon this year.
Aunt Lavenda and Uncle Leon were in charge and
they did a great job with keeping the activities and all the FUN going!

Stacy and I couldn't get any of our children to go with us so
we grabbed Liam and Jackson and headed off.
We were going to stay at our Brian Head Condo,
thinking that Bryce Canyon was up Cedar Mountain.
When we were just outside of Cedar City,
Lisa called and wondered where we were.
She then informed us that Brian Head was 1 1/2 hours away from Bryce.
We immediately called Rubies Inn to see if there was any rooms left.
We lucked out with the last room available.
Leon had the large campground on the lake reserved and
we had all the reunion activities there.
The campground was in walking distance of Rubies Inn.

AT THE BEACH!

FOR MEMORIAL DAY
WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT HUNTINGTON BEACH!
MAY 23, 2009

Troy's Family joined Stacy and I for a quick weekend to the Beach!
I had an extra day off for Memorial Day so we headed off to have some fun in the sun!

Troy with Tyler and Scout sporting their swimming suits by the pier!

Scout running in the sand!

Travis was working in San Diego at the time, so he joined in for the FUN!

IT FELT GOOD TO BE OUT IN THE SUN!

Ever since I started working full time, I think I miss the sun the most.
I didn't realize how much I enjoyed the sun,
till I spent my day in a cubical and never saw it till the weekend.

The kids were so good and so fun to have around.
They are happy even at the Hotel Room!

TROY'S CAR BROKE DOWN!

On the way out to Temecula to see Tysa, Troy's car broke down.
The whole trip he was putting oil in every time he stopped.
Well, it finally blew! They towed it off and Troy never saw his car again.
That left us with 2 families and 2 car loads of beach supplies, car seats,
and suitcases to squeeze into 1 car. Anyone would have been impressed
with how Troy and Stacy got it all packed in.
Things were packed into every nook and cranny, from floor to ceiling,
around every car seat and filled a luggage rack on top. It was amazing!

TYSA'S BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

And having fun on the Porch!

And finally, my favorite spot at Tysa's is this gorgeous view
overlooking the vineyards of Temecula!
It's her back yard!

What a GREAT WAY to spend the holiday weekend!
To me, there is nothing that can be more relaxing than sitting in the sand,
splashing your toes in the surf and basking in the sun!
Add to that, the wonderful company of some special ones in your life,
and you have the perfect recipe for a scrumptious vacation!
